  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (antioxidant)

  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar (antioxidant)

  • 1 teaspoon pure honey (natural antioxidant sweetener)

  • 1 small apple peeled and chopped (antioxidant)

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste (concentrated antioxidant)

  • 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped (antioxidant)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (anti-inflammatory + immune support)

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (Omega-3 anti-inflammatory)

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika  (antioxidant)

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (antioxidant) *add sparingly, a little goes a long way

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes  (antioxidant) *add sparingly, a little goes a long way

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (helps nutrient absorption)

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or turmeric for extra anti-aging benefits

Preparation

  • Sauté aromatics: In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add red onion and garlic. Cook until softened and fragrant, about 3–5 minutes.

  • Add the tomato paste and spices mix with the onions and garlic

  • Add the rest: Stir in blueberries, apple, balsamic vinegar, and honey. Bring to a gentle simmer.

  • Simmer down: Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries burst and the sauce begins to thicken.

  • Blend smooth (optional): Use an immersion blender or transfer to a blender for a smooth, thick texture.

  • Adjust consistency: If it’s too thin, simmer longer. If you want extra thickness without starch, mash some of the blueberries or reduce it longer uncovered.

Let cool completely. Store in a jar in the fridge for up to 7 days, or freeze for later.
